In my last post, I shared with you the measures Alex Roy undertook in order to prepare for a record lap around Manhattan Island. His efforts include a practice lap with a target time of under 30 minutes.

Today, you will understand just how difficult Alex's lap really was.

In Die Hard: With A Vengeance, a German terrorist named Simon, who happens to love a good game of "Simon Says," sends Lt. John McClane and good Samaritan Zeus on a wild goose chase beginning from a payphone at the corner of 72nd & Broadway and ending at a payphone next to the Wall Street Station newspaper kiosk within 30 minutes or else the passengers in the 3 train "vaporizes." Gotta love Hollywood!

This is not your average car chase. This is a race against time!

I'm back!! Thank you to all of our followers for your patience in recent times during our lull in posts.

That being said, please enjoy the 3rd installment of Must See Movie Car Chases! Today, we are taking a look at the Tumbler chase scene from Batman Begins.

Being a Batman nerd, at first I wasn't too thrilled with this vehicle. Then I started to read into the specs and what this thing is actually capable of. Here's a few stats for you to take in:

• Weight: about 5,000 lbs
• Powered by a Chevy 350
• 0-60 in 5 seconds
• Rear tires are 37 inches in diameter mudders
• You want one? It cost about $250,000 to build
• The end jump through the waterfall was done with the actual car

So sit back and enjoy this chase, my particular moment occurs right around 2:59-3:03 moment.

Welcome back to Must See Movie Car Chases!

In this post, we will be looking at a collection from my absolute favorite movie trilogy, Mad Max! From the first time I saw these movies, the sheer awesomeness of the V-8 Interceptor had me hooked. Based on a 1973 Ford Falcon XB, this vehicle was available only in Australia, but to quote Wayne Campbell,  "It will be mine. Oh yes, it will be mine."

So sit down, bust out your leathers, buckle up and enjoy!

Must See Movie Car Chases

As a car guy, there are certain obligatory movies that need to be in the collection. We at FPH have seen our fair share and would like to share our favorites with you.

Gone in 60 Seconds (1974):

Now, you may or may not know that the one with Nick Cage was a remake. The original featured a Mustang that was equivalent to a land yacht, but nonetheless, it is amazing. This chase is at the top for several reasons: 1). It's 45 minutes long, making it the longest car chase in movie history!!! 2). Real people, real drivers. They just decided to take the car onto the public roads and see what happens. 3). No CGI jumps 4). 93 cars were destroyed in filming this chase!

5). Oh BTW, that wreck? Not planned. The pole was hit at 100 mph, and the only concern of the driver/director/producer/stunt-man was if they got that on film
