While most of us read the car magazines and watch shows like Top Gear, Fifth Gear, and The Car Show to get a feel for cars that we'd never have a chance to drive, these shows can't convey how incredible some of the cars really are (or are not) because the people who test the cars never drove the best cars. Yes, Fifth Gear has genuine race car drivers in Jason Plato and Tiff Needell but Plato is a touring car driver and Needell only has a singular Formula One start under his belt. To get a completely honest opinion, it needs to come from someone crazy enough (and good enough) to have driven the best of the best year after year, someone like Martin Brundle.

Gettin' Sideways
While perusing the information super highway today, an unusual car/motorcycle/jet fighter thing caught my attention. Now, usually these types of vehicles are quickly dismissed and never seen again. The thought of a motorcycle being saddled with hundred of extra performance stifling pounds is a depressing notion while the idea of any joe blow being able to "ride" a three wheeled vehicle that is registered as a motorcycle makes me laugh at their "skill" on the street. What you're about see is the exception to these rules. It's primarily a high efficiency commuter car that brings some of the excitement of motorcycling. With that in mind, this "car" is a great revelation for the typical commuter car buying crowd. I'd take this over an IQ or Smart any day... any day that I can't ride a proper motorcycle, that is. Enjoy these videos!

The Occupational Hazard of Automotive Journalism
I'm curious, have any of you ever tried to talk cars with your mom? And what was the result? When I was little, I suppose my parents thought it was cute and I'd imagine they were glad I was into something boyish, especially if for whatever reason they were concerned I would grow up effeminate.
However, if I mention anything remotely car related to my mom now, even it it's only for a second, I would likely be responded by sighs each more exasperated than the next... which brings me to this bit.
Those that have grown to know Clarkson understand that this is not a fault, it's merely a part of the package.
Happy Mother's Day!

An Apple a Day...
Since we've been talking about incredibly rare Porsches and old episodes of Top Gear, I thought I'd combine the two topics. Conveniently, this brings us to the most recent limited edition uber-car from Stuttgart, the Carrera GT. It just so happens to be, in my opinion, with its unique V10 whoooop whhhooooooop, the best sounding car... in the world.

Humble Beginnings
With the 17th Season of BBC's Top Gear ending not too long ago, I've gone a bit nostalgic and decided to dig around and find out where it all began for our ambitious but rubbish trio.
