Past Meets Present

The C2 Corvette Stringray (1963-1967) offered drastic changes from the previous C1. It was the first production Corvette coupe, offered substantial improvements in power and handling over its predecessor and gave us the infamous '63 split window.

Fast forward almost 50 years and behold the 2010 ZR-1, the fastest, most expensive Corvette to date. Giving life to the beast is the LS9, a 6.2 liter supercharged V-8, boasting 620 HP and 595 lb-ft of torque.

But what happens when you mate old and new? Sure, we have examples of when old meets new on the roads today. All you have to do is look at the Dodge Challenger, Ford Mustang and Chevy Camaro. All of these feature cues from their predecessors and incorporate them into their modern interpretations.

But, let's flip that around and inject some new into the old. The end result is what you see here, the C2 ZR-1. I was fortunate enough to see this in person at the 2011 Dallas Autorama and I can truly say that this build is exceptional.

Take a jump over to C2 ZR-1 Corvette by Heartland Customs to follow the build from beginning to end. Make sure to watch the video while you're there.
